shot in the dark: oil pressure gauge 444-544

Now that the engine's back in my thoughts are on the next, hopefully final stages of reinstallation. I have an old, no-name oil pressure gauge which I acquired with a parts car. I've grown attached to it over the months and would like to use it in the 544 but I didn't get the sender...would like to try and make one up. This is a mechanical gauge, the fitting on the rear seems like a compression-type but it could be a flare fitting, I guess. The threads seem to be 5/16 UNF male, not tapered like pipe fittings. The end of the fitting has a conical concavity (!). Does this ring a bell for anyone? Probably a knockoff of whatever Stewart-Warner was making in about 1960.
