Stereo replacement 700 1990

The round connector is for the amp...smae idea as RCAs today. Your front (if equipped) and rear door speakers are driven by an amp located under the driver's knee panel (under steering wheel). The front dash speakers are driven by the radio.

Here's a link for 1990 to 1992 700 series Volvo radio wiring (1mb PDF). E-Mail me if you have any questions. mdnky@mac.com

As an FYI, a local independant (not Best Buy or Curcuit City) stereo shop installed one for me a few years ago for $50.00. I tried to install my old Pioneer myself with no luck (fried the internal amp) and I bought a Clarion through them. $100.00 is a bit much for a just a head-unit install. I've since installed 4 in similar cars, it's easy once you get the right info. Crutchfield is useless in this regard.
