idle surge when Blower Fan is turned off - Is this normal? 200

Whenever I turn off my blower fan the idle surges from 750 to 1250 rpms then comes back down.

I have to assume this is not normal and I'm wondering if in my blower motor replacement bunglings (last fall) I missed an AC wire connection.

OR is this just a normal function of the engine no longer having to burden itself with the fan motor turning?

sooner or later I'm gonna have to get into the lower center dash panel anyway to try to get my lower dash lights working again (they didn't survive the blower motor replacement bunglings). I'm trying to decide if I should schedule an extra hour for checking the AC wiring/Blower switch wiring.
