I know you said you adjusted the throttle body, I assume you mean the idle switch is clicking- did you check it once it was all back together? I've seen the linkage get out of adjustment and prevent the throttle from fully getting back to closed position. The link rod is a turnbuckle- adjust it if the length is not right. Also the throttle position switch could have failed. And you're on the right course with the idle air motor, were the hoses to it clean?
Have you looked for other vacuum leaks? Injector seals, manifold gasket, vac lines, the big air hoses to the intercooler?
One of these is screwing up.
Also- since you have the hall pickup in the distributor have you looked at that connector? It's hard to get at but it is a failure point. I had to put a new distributor in our 88 last year.
