After market Gentex dimming/compass/temp mirror install on 1993 960 900

This weekend I will undertake upgrading my factory stock mirror to the Gentex autodimming compass/temp mirror. I understand I will need to glue a new mount to the windshield, however, I'm just am not sure where (how far down from the headliner)on the windshield to glue it. I find myself inspecting other cars in parking lots to get ideas. This morning the police stopped and asked what am I doing. I had to show them the mirror for them to believe me.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
