244 rocker panel trim piece - coming off 200 1988

There is a nice black trim piece all along the rocker panel, fender to fender. On getting out of HER car, wife.sig caught a heel on the section under the driver's door and popped it off about three of the clips.

I bought 13 new clips from the dealer, enough for the entire length. Now I'm stuck on how to do the job. Is it necessary to get access to the back side of the clips, like inside the rocker panel, for the job? Is it possible to just replace the broken off clips?

If you have doen such a job before, your experiences and tips will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance,

Bob
