Well people, as it turns out I had the calipers on the wrong sides as the bleed screws were "upside down" so to speak. This morning after I read the replies to my previous post, I went back to complete the job. Swapped caliper sides and pressure bled the brakes twice and I got brakes! The pedal is about the same as it was before I started the whole magella but hey, I can drive the car.
Thanks again to everyone. Good tech lesson learned here.
Also thanks to Aye Roll for the list of trustworthy repair shops in SE CT. Gotta do the front end alignment soon.
