245 misfire is making me mad! 200 1990

Hello all,

I thought I posted a message about this last night, but I can't seem to find it, so I'll try again. My 237,000mi '90 245 has an intermittent misfire that makes no sense to me. It seems to do it only after a snow or rain - sometimes not even during, but after a storm. Of course, I figured that it was just the questionable non-OEM plug wires, so I changed them. Just for good measure, I also put in new plugs and a cap and rotor. I thought everything was better, but yesterday, it started misfiring again.

When it happens, the idle also seem to fluctuate wildly or sit at high idle. Giving it more gas just makes it bog down more. The CE light doesn't usually come on, but the twice that it has, it has given a "fault in fuel injector" code.

The AMM, FPR, Temp Sensor, plugs/wires/cap/rotor are new, so my first thought was ECU, but the dampness factor seems to point elsewhere. I would think that a harness issue would cause it, but I thought these were fixed by 1990. It is too wet and cold to do any real troubleshooting at the car, so any ideas? My only winter car can't be driven in the wet -- not good!!!

thanks in advance,
-erik
