New heater valve=No heat 200

Just replaced my heater valve because the thermo did not work. It was putting out at full volume with the valve barely open. I replaced it with a brand new genuine volvo part and now with the valve wide open I am barely getting any heat. Do I need to adjust the thermo set screw? If so which way do I turn it to get more heat? Every thing is hook up correctly and the valve mechinism has full travel.
