Idle speed ; What should it be ? 700 1985

I have read lots of posts about idle speed and the LH 2.2 bosch system, and I would like to know what the idle speed should be when my engine is cold. I know it should be around 750 when warm but mine starts fine and jumps back down to 750 right away. i.e no fast idle.

I have done tons of things to the car. Replaced the temp sensor wiring. Fixed all vaccuum leaks and replaced the IAC valve. The valve works OK because it bumps up the idle speed when I turn on the A/C. It would not do that before I replaced the valve.

I was thinking that I need a new ECU eprom as mentioned about the LH 2.4, but it looks like that issue did not apply to the LH 2.2 system as far as I can tell (not sure). Mine is a 0 280 000 541.

The only thing I can think to do to get a faster cold idle would be to rig the A/C input line on the system to think the A/C is on when it is really off until the engine warms up.

Anyone know if mine needs a new eprom and what the cold idle speed should typically be ?

Thanks
Randy
