Rear Wheel Well rust holes fixed, how hard is it to stop leak in rear side window? 200

I have been following/fixing water damage back to what looks to be the original source! the left rear side window on my '86 245 wagon.

It looks as if the lower seal is leaky as evidenced by rust under the flange/joint that the glass sits over.

Has anyone had success at removing this window, fixing the seal, then replacing the window?

I've fixed the results of this leak (rear foot wells, fender well, spare tire well) so now I have to fix the cause!
