where is the stick o/d plug socket??? 200

my o/d is NOT WORKING
maybe because the wires from the gear shift nob are not plugged in to anything
I was trying to reseat the shifter rubber boot to stop the hot air rushing in thru it and pulled gently on the wires coming up from the carpet,
when out came a plug-end geeee maybe thats why the shifter donot work in 5th
anyway a feel and small cut in the carpet and no other plug for the o/d wires to go back in to is seen or felt

so time to post HERE and ask where is the plug-sovket
on a related note does a o/d switch stay in a down possition or just pop back up
when it is in o/d=5th gear???

THE NEXT PART ARE OTHER WIREs thicker ones NOT THE 5th gear o/d switch wire they are fine just unpluged.
and what are the two other wires coming up out thru the stifter boot?????
one looked OK the other a red and thicker yellow pair looked like the red was srorted by the metal of the shifter hole burning off the ins on the red so I wraped the former red wire in el-tape and replaced the outer cover with tape too
but wonder what it is for??????and where does it go to as I many need to replace it soon
