Spare M46 condition evaluation? 200 1979

Another question for you, irreplaceable friends...

The M45 from my old 244 is off the car to allow clutch/flywheel work.

I have 3 complete spare steel-cased M46 in my basement. They were already off the cars when I got them and I do not know how they behaved while in service.

One has 200 k. miles on it and the other two have unknown mileage.

Is there a simple way to tell with certainty about their condition while they are laying in my basement ? If I was sure one of them was in as good a shape as my excellent M45, I would rather have a M46 for long distance travelling.

I do have the appropriate M46 driveshaft.

Any tips will be greatly greeted...
