Spooky - dashboard directional lights and hibeam indicators glow & flicker???? 200

1986 240 DL with 190k miles. About 2 weeks ago both the hi beam and directional dash indicator lights started glowing and flickering simultaneously. This occurs only when the lights are switched on. Sometimes this issue stops when I hit the directional switch - although the problem usually comes back fairly quick. The brighter the directional and beam indicator lights glow, the dimmer the (general-white) dash lights appear. Any help with this would be appreciated.
