Help on wierd warm up noises 200

Hi I have a 85 245 turbo with intercooler that is having trouble starting and making weird noises during warm up. When I start the car it will die in 2 seconds if I don't put and keep the gas on. I have to keep the gas on and let the car run at 1800rpm until it warms up or else it doesn't run correctly. If I let the gas off before then the car will shake violently like a couple of cylinders aren't working. The about two minutest after I have started my engine and still have the gas on it starts to make loud clunking noises. My friend says it's coming from the general area of the turbo, cat, and the last spark plug. Any ideas on what could be wrong and if it's bad for my car. help
