Opinions on Motorvac for an engine with 289k? 200 1987

Just got an 87 245 with 289k, one previous owner, gaps in service history, but seems like the first 160k were put on in the first two years (might explain the cracked vinyl seats!) Last five years have apparently had regular oil changes... okay, so my question is : should I motorvac this thing out to 'start fresh'? I was thinking of just using a 'flush', but was advised against it with such high miles (in case chunks of goo might break loose and clog something)... I motorvac'd my truck once, and it helped a bit with running smoothness, so at least I know it actually can have positive benefits. If I drop the oil pan and look around, should I be able to see if the innards need such a scrubbin'? Thanks!
