Tyre Frustration... 700 1985

Today I've been doing some tyre research and found that it's very frustrating.
People both here and elsewhere on the net make some great recomendations, and I like being able to buy something that comes well recomended.
The only problem is that everything being recomended is either not available in a 195/60-15 or simply not avaliable in Australia!

On top of that I'm finding tyres recomended that are either disscontinued or no longer available in my sizing anymore.
The Kumhos were a perfect example, the 711 used to come in a 195/60-15, but they no longer make it, A Sumitomo model that was raved about no longer exists, and Yoko's have totaly difrent models here, and cost twice the price of what they are overseas, which seems to be the same story for Toyo which cost rather big money here also.

I don't really like taking a chance on tyres, nor do I like the big name brands much, I find them over priced for what they are, I like medium budget tyres that perform and are well performance rated, but I'm striking out in a huge way today.

Does anyone have any suggestions that I have not thought of yet? I'm currently leaning towards a tyre that is simply just cheap, simply because at the price I know it will be hard to go wrong, even if it's down a bit on grip.
