Ball joint replacement when replacing strut inserts? 700 1988

But if you'd like to replace them, or if they have ANY play in them, they are fairly easy to change. Couple bolts plus the big nut on the actual taper of the ball. You need a "pickle fork" or ball joint/tie rod separator to get this out of the lower control arm. If you were just replacing ball joints, you would be able to get back on the road without an alignment. However, any time you remove the struts, you should get an alignment.
Good luck and be careful with that spring compressor.
