ROUGH idle, won't move - HELP! 900 1993

My wife's '93 940 has developed an extremely rough idle, to the point that she couldn't drive it out of the driveway today. I tested the codes (?), but they all seemed to be normal (I must admit that this is the first time I read about these and tested them). It seems to me that there could be air intake problems or fuel intake problems. When I crank the engine, it runs, but very very roughly, and it is mainly unresponsive to throttle adjustments. Can anyone out there help me? Please?
