When Ford Bought out Volvo.....

All "large" Volvos you see today are still "100% Volvo". Even the XC90-project was on its way when Ford bought Volvo Car Corporation in 1999. The prestudy started in September 1998 and the design of the XC90 was decided about a month after the Ford deal.
The only not "100% Volvo" today is the current S40/V40. It shares platform with Mitsubishi Carisma. They are both manufactured at the NedCar plant in Holland. This version of the 40-series will be discontinued later this year and will then be replaced by a Belgium made S40/V50 built on a newly developed platform (P1). This platform will later be used by both Ford and Mazda.
