Weird loss of power when driving 700 1986

A few times this has happened, when I'm driving along I'll lose power and look down and see the tach drop. It has dropped all the way down once, but a couple times it went down only partially. My car will almost immediately regain power and go on fine. This doesn't seem to happen when I'm accelerating or stopping, nor going up or down hills. If I were to 'fix' it I might never know because it doesn't happen enough. (once every 2-3 days or more) Should I wait for it to get really bad or should I fix it now? Also, I read the faq for this and I think it might be my ecu. I know that is expensive...? Is my ecu likely going bad?

Thanks,
Nathan
