Liability Insurance 1993 945T 900 1993

Just bought an excellent 1993 945T. Live in California. Liability insurance was as high as a 1989 5.0 mustang I own. When I questioned the agent they said that cars are rated as liability risks on scale 1-16. The Mustang is a 15 and the Volvo 945 is a 12. Family Windstar van is a 3. I am mid 50's totally clean driving record. Anyone have a clue why 945T wagon is such a liability risk? Possible crossover from 940T (which might be driven like a mustang or camero)?
Love the car but not sure $1550/year liability worth it on a $5000 car.
