rear main seal replacement 200

I am suspecting that the rear main seal is leaking. read up the archives on doing the job. I was wondering how high do you guys raise your car up? Also do you remove the transmission out from under the car to replace the rear main seal on the engine and the tranny seal --- or can all this be done with the tranny removed and still under the car. I did some measurements, looks like I have to have raise the car about 20 inches to take the tranny out. I am not at all comfortable rasing the car this high up.

Also I do not have a transmission jack adaptor. Any of you did this with a regular floor jack ? If so how did you support the tranny?

Thanks in advance.
