Tire sizes 140-160

I was wondering what tire sizes people are running... My 142 has a m40 tranny in it and small tires(195/60/14) and so my engine is always spinning fast and my speedometer is off... I will eventually have some "virgo" rims and was wondering what size of tire I should run. I know that 195/60/15s are jsut about perfect but I want a more performance oriented size. Lower profile/wider. The stock 165/15 tires are around 24.4" in diameter. My 195/60/14s are about 23.2", and 205/55/15s are around 23.8". I'm want a tire that is in the high 23" range, but what can I do to fix the speedometer reading. My car is a '68 m40 so does it have a 4.10:1 rear end? What would happen if I changed it to a 3.93:1 or something... Just wondering.
Later,
Kyle - KLR142
