High idle after TB cleaning 200 1984

The car was idling normally, albeit a little rough, around 800 rpm or so.

I cleaned the throttle body, replaced the TB gasket, replaced sparks plugs and cables, and reattached the flame trap hose where it had popped off the plastic box on the block.

Now it idles beautifully at start-up. After I first touch the accelerator it idles at 1,500 rpm. Hasn't done this after previous TB maintenance.

No obvious vacuum leaks, though I'll check again. (Haven't had much chance what with this weather.) I wonder if the tiny ball joint between the TB and the accelerator cable could have gotten tightened, preventing the butterfly from closing. Seems unlikely, but the little plastic doohickey did spin a few times.

Any theories out there?
