87 245 dl feul pump relay repeated failure

car decided not to start day before thanks giving, (just got done bragging on it). pulled out the old haynes manual and determined it was the fuel pump relay. went to bap geon (had to borrow my friends altima .......humiliation) and got the part. installed and up and running no problem. feb 12; i'm on I-95 near richmond 80 miles from home. i hear some chatering then car dies. coast off highway. do some testing. fuel pump relay is hot to the touch. replace it. every thing is ok. feb21 today riding around town the chatering is back.
car bucks and stalls and dies in the middle of main street. got it restarted and went home. ?????????

is this a common thing. i've had the car now going on 3 years. only one other problem.

camshaft seal blew out about 20k mi after being replaced. oil everywhere. i was told a plugged flame trap would /could cause that to happen. checked it and its hoses/lines, every thing clear. ?????????

one other thing really weird. was giving a car a jump and had mine idled up a bit. when done i took the jumper cables loose from my car and it died??????
this happened like 3 days ago.

can any one help me out.
