Tune-up went great, thank you! 200 1989

Thanks to all who responded regarding tips for my first-time tune-up. I can't believe I used to actually pay someone to do that!

The new plugs threaded in perfectly, my only problem was that blasted distributor rotor, specifically seating it properly. It turns out that I needed to use a little force to fully seat it so that the dist. cap would go on correctly.

I also replaced my ignition coil with a new Bosch unit for about $44. My old one was producing a weak orange spark. Part of the inside of the coil, where the i.c. wire plugs into, was damaged and the gold/contacts looks to have been only half there and was green (see pic). A few screws here, there, the new one fits like a glove.

Total cost of all parts $62.

My brick is happy and so am I. :-) Thanks again to everyone here at the BB!
