Buying a car from across the border 900

I am considering going across the border to buy a 960 ( from Canada to the States ) and wondering if it's worth the effort. I need to know what is involved in doing this and what procedures I would have to go through to bring a car over the border.
From what I have seen on the net the selection of 940/960's is not bad, especially in California. Not much to choose from up here ( western Canada ).
I don't want to look in eastern Canada because of the rust problem there.
Even with the $ exchange rate ( about 1.5 ) prices for 960's are retty good in the US. So... just wondering if anyone has done this and what I'd need to know to go ahead with this ? Thanks

Karl in Canada
