Oil preesure light 700 1990

I have a 1990 760 Turbo with about 200k miles on it. Yesterday the oil light came on as I was leaving my house. I shut down right away and checked the oil level, which turned out to be fine. I went out and bought an oil pressure gauge to see if I really have lost pressure, but I'm not sure where to hook it up. My manual doesn't even address the oil pressure sender, which I think is on the head just under the intake manifold. Am I correct about tthe sender, and is there another place to hook up the gauge, or should I remove the sender and hook up my gauge there?
