APC system on fuel cut off, lots of questions 700 1989

HI all. I've got an 89 740 turbo with garrett, and I just installed a Saab APC system on it. The car is now noticeably quicker, and the prodigous amount of boost it provides now is wonderful. However, the thing is hitting fuel cut off. I cannot press the pedal past 3/4 and watch the gauge pass 5 o'clock without the car cutting fuel. I've hit the fuel cut off wall a few times, and its very annoying. I want to be able to turn the wick up on thsi fuel cut off switch to sidestep this problem, or wire up one of those adjustable saab units. How would I go about removing and adjusting hte volvo switch? I haven't a book at home, but i have yanked the driver's side kick panel down and taken a look at the switch. I also have a saab switch as mentioned earlier to swap out, and what about a check valve? If I were to splice a chekc valve inline with the current vacuum hose, would that be better? I just want to run whatever this thing will allow.

One more thing....How would i test this APC system to see whether its actually sensing knock? I've driven to the edge of fuel cut off without hearing any knock myself, but the whole reason for installing this thing was so that I could have an added measure of safety and not toss a rod or piston from the motor. Just want to know whether its blindly adding boost, or whether its actually checking for knock.
