240 paint it or not to paint it 200 1981

hey I have a 81, 245. the car is ivory white number, 42 on the color chart. I want to know if I should repaint it or not to. the car has some body damage there is primer sops all over it, and a little rust. I want to know how hard is it to do a single stage paint job what do I need. I am in high school so this will be a low budget paint job. I like the color but would like a different shade, what are my options, can you send pics of your cars so I can get ideas, also I am trying to decide if I want to take off the side molding or not. I just want the car to look good and be more protected. I need the car to be done for the IPD sale in May.
