Sunroof 140-160

Aye Roll,

sounds like you've got a handle on the 164 sunroof assy... no pun intended.

mine's very very very sticky, to the point i don't open it anymore for fear of not being able to close it. and i'm not sure if the stickiness is causing the crank to now "skip" or if the little clutch-type thingy in the base is stripped. what i'd like to do is lube the whole thing before trying a rebuild, but seeing some diagrams there are chains etc that go back into the roof - how would one lube these?

if i had to rebuild, it is a huge pain in the arse? can it even be done, ie: by a reputable interior shop or the like?

also, it leaks like a sieve - do you know what model/year rubber can replace it, or would i have to get new rubber moulding fabricated?

and as a trinket, i need a new backing plate - the piece of plastic that sits between the interior headliner and crank assy - know if i can scam one off another model/year?

many thanks,
-daniel
