fuel/oil additives - what do you use? what do you think works? 700

While a fuel additive or injector cleaner never cleared up a problem I was having, I guess it didn't hurt either. I'll usually use a bottle of Valvoline or Techron cleaner in the last tank before an oil change.

Just basing the logic on hearsay but in a high mileage engine that may have ring blowby, I think the oil change removes any cleaner that may find it's way into the sump and contaminate the oil. In Nissan, which we bought new and sold at 183,000 miles, I never had a fuel system issue but can't say the injector cleaner deserves the credit.

I've never used any oil treatment.
