Gas Leak 200

My son's 82 240 (CI) has developed a gas leak at the frequency valve. It's where the plastic meets the metal near the electrical connection. Has anyone seen this before? I have another valve to replace it, but I'm wondering about the cause of this failure. Any gas leak on the fuel injection system can get serious in a hurry, and I don't want to overlook anything.
