Air Conditioning idling speed 200 1978

How do I notch up the idling a little to compensate for loss of power and engine cutting out when I'm running the airconditioner. Current idling is about 900 rpm, is it ok to go a little higher to keep it ticking over when I'm stopped in traffic. At the moment I'm switching off the a/c when I'm approaching traffic lights etc, very annoying.
1978 245 DL, Fuel injection.
