This thing instead of the bosch ignition amplifier? 140-160 1975

The cool thing about the '75 Bosch ignition is that it is 28 years old this year and it still works.
I have a Fiat that I've been learning more and more about and one of the upgrades is to get an original electronic ignition distributor from a later car and put it in the old car (sound familiar?), except one needs to call one of the supporting vendors and order a new pick-up for it and keep a spare in the car. The one you got is fried and the one you just bought will fry soon.
Geesh, might as well buy a Perlux or Crane and keep a spare in the car, they're cheaper and easier to find.
My humble opinion is that none of the aftermarket electronic ignitions manufactured this year(or inferior brand originals like my other car) will live to see that ripe, old age of 28.
How long will the '75 Bosch last? Anybody have a clue the average miles they can go?
I guess I feel the same as George, Chris. I really like my '75 Bosch ignition.
Plus the kit didn't make me have to buy a different coil;o)
Best,
shayne
