This thing instead of the bosch ignition amplifier? 140-160 1968


I hadn't thought of using another car's ignition
amplifier. I guess it makes sense that any magnetic
ignition pickup would work. I'd be interested in
hearing more.

As far as running more advance and stuff, I think
it might be possible if you run plugs that transfer
more heat from the combustion chamber (hotter? colder?)
than stock and then run a larger gap and hotter
spark to keep them from fouling. But would that
keep them from fouling since I thought that crap
was conductive.

I mostly thought that the pertronix thing would
be nice to get a relatively cheap rev limiter with
the after market amplifier.
