In-car rod bearings replacement... 200

Hello BBoard friends,

I seem to have connecting rod #3 knocking slightly on my B21F with 150 k. miles. I never noticed it before upping the CR to 11:1 (polished combustion chambers, valve work, etc....). Maybe the higher cylinder pressure has brought that weakness to light. It is my first ever encounter with rod knock.

Has anyone ever changed the rod bearings in his driveway, at -10 degrees C.(bearable), engine in the car, with the head still on(?)?

If you've done it, I'd like to hear of your experience and how much time the job involved.

Many thanks in advance.
