This thing instead of the bosch ignition amplifier? 140-160 1968

The reason you should open your plug gap is because the ideal plug gap is .100 but there are no
coils on the market that can do this.So opening up your gap gets you closer to the .100 spec.
The stock gap on most GM cars is .045.When I spoke with the folks at Accel and they claim some
people have run a .060 Gap with no problems.I run my gap at .050 because I'm not sure if the
Bosch cap & rotor can handle a .060 gap.
The bigger the gap,the better the fuel burn.I use AC Delco plugs because they cost about a buck
and because there GM,I feel they can handle the bigger gap.I do run one step colder(a 42 instead
of the 43)on the plug but I cant remember the plug model.
