Ditch a b234, install a b230T? 700

Right now this is just suppose, but:

Say I bought a certain primo b234 740GLE, and later the engine cratered (the timing belt breaks, and I gather there is something stupid about the 234 oil pump too). Say I didn't want to fix it. Hmmmm.

What's wrong with a b230T implant? Would that be an easy swap?

Would be a lot easier if the ECU/wiring harness/AMM/throttle body/intake manifold--the entire air/fuel management system--would carry over. I would also know that they were all good because they would have been working on my own car up until the moment the valves went, crunch. Carrying these systems over would mean the swap would be entirely mechanical--no electronics involved other than hooking up sensors.

The 4-valve engine is a heavy breather, just like the turbo. Are the two close enough that a turbo engine could accept the 234 components and run properly?

Wait, let me guess--the various sensors work at different voltages/ohms in the two engines? Incompatible? Would the turbo ECU and AMM be drop-in replacements for the b234 units?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Doug Harvey
