Auto trans late shift to 3rd gear or when let up on gas 900 1991

Check the kickdown cable. Mine came disconnected once. Also make sure the kickdown and throttle cables are in the cam groves properly. Also check the fluid level to ensure it's not too low or too high. Consider cleaning the filter and doing a flush (see FAQ) Then I would check making an adjustment to the cable itself (se FAQs). Also make sure the cable sheaths are properly seated so that they do not bind the cable.
