Questions while installing power trunk release 200 1982

1) No. The electric trunk release had it's own harness that snaked from the glovebox to the trunk. The harness has a lead that connects to the fuse panel somewhere.

2) As I recall (from when I removed mine and sold it), the trunk release requires always-on power and a "trigger" signal from the glovebox pushbutton. Plus ground, of course.

3) See #2 for a clue. The "trigger" signal starts the motor on a cycle, and it continues on the power supplied by the "always-on" source until it completes the cycle. In some ways, it's conceptually like a wiper motor.

Frankly, I'd either examine an installed and working gizmo to confirm the hook-ups (maybe using a meter or test light) or I'd carefully disassemble the motor and learn what the three connectors are for.
