console lighting 200

I find the lamp longevity you've experienced amazing. Knowing something about what kills incandescents I'd ask if they are not being run at about 16V, if they are turning black inside, but obviously you'd report more of these than just the escutcheon lighting. Many originals in my 79... Replacements come from the scrapyard.

Those with light pipes may be easier to convert to LED than others needing wider view angles. I think LEDs are on the brink of taking over those jobs, and some of the recent bright white LEDs I've played with are impressive.

Anyway, the reason for my reply is to tell you I'd recently read a thoroughly impressive project done by someone replacing all his 240 interior lighting with solid state, using massive arrays of monochromatic LEDs for a unique effect. If the archive search works, you'll find it using 'LED'.
