would like to install AM/FM CD player on 6volt system 444-544 1961


Yes you can buy voltage stepup converters, if you know where to look they are not hard to find, it's a rather simple device and small too (about the size of 2 matchboxes).

A German company called Kemo makes them, it basicly just doubles the input signal voltage, push in 6 volts, get out 12 etc.

I know where they are sold in Australia, but not anywhere else.

As for cost, well at $40 Australia ($24US) I don't really consider it expensive.
