ignition coil 200 1987

Okay still checkin stuff on the 240 to get it to run. I did the diagnostic test on the ignition coil. Usinng the Hanes manual and an ohmmeter I checked the primary and secondary resistance. The prmary is supposed to be 1.1 - 1.3 and the secondary 9.6 - 11.6K for a computerized system, on both mine did not read at all. I believe the meter to be working correctly. Is this reading even possible? If the coil is bad will it have no reading? The manual just says if the readigs are not as specified the coil is bad. I had no previous signs of the coil going bad, do they just up and die with no warning. I had posted another thread about what I have done so far to fix the car it can be found at this link. http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=597229
Thanks again for the help.
