1989 740GL AC Repairs - Help Please! 700 1989

Well, I should have known that something like this was coming, but I really didn't see it coming ...
Turned the AC on the 740 for the first time, just to find it blowing hot. Had it checked out by the mechanic, and it needs the following:

- AC Condenser (main offender)
- High hose
- Muffler (replaced by the tube)
- AC Compressor (Working fine now, but is making noise. May as well replace while I have it all apart)
And since I am replacing the compressor, I will also replace
- AC Dryer
- AC Orifice tube

I am trying to do as much research as possible before buying the parts and doing all the repairs. Any and all suggestions are VERY welcome at this point. I would love to hear your thoughts on where is the best place to buy this, what I should get ONLY from the dealer, which parts I could rebuild, etc, etc, etc. I am NOT converting the car to R134a as I live in Arizona and every little beat of extra cooling is MUCH needed. So, we are staying with R12.
Also, the car needs a new crank pulley, and rear brakes. GEEZ! I thought this car was PERFECT, and now I find out it needs all this???

Thanks in advance,
Greg M.
