fuel in crank case 200 1987

I have recently posted two other threads about the problems I have been having. I worked on the car for a while by my self and finally decided to get it towed 28 miles to the closest and only volvo mechanic I can find in the area. He came out and started looking it over, I explained all I had done so far to it. Then he pulled the dip stick out and it looks like I just put 7 qts of oil in it. So we found out there is gas in the crank case. He said it was a good thing I didn't get the car started with all that gas in the oil. He believes the fuel pressure regulator is bad. I just took it out there today so I wont hear from him until tomorrow. Anyone else had fuel in their crank case? What was the problem that caused this to happen? Thanks to everyone who helped me out thus far. I will let you know what happens.
