HELP-- 88 760gle won't start! 700

i've checked all sorts of stuff, i don't know what's left. the fpr is good, there is spark, but the fuel pumps don't come on. this all happened after i took the supply wires off the coil and cleaned them off. it ran ok most of the time before that. if i take the coil wire off the distributor, i get spark arcing, but the fuel pumps don't kick on. if i bypass the fuel pump relay, the pumps come on, but it won't start, seems like the injectors aren't clicking....i cleaned the connector for the crank sensor, which was corroded, but still no start. any ideas?
