Bump goes the 240 Wagonn 200

You're on the right track. About 50% chance it's the exhaust. It could also be from rear shocks. Have a look at the shock bushings. Also get it jacked up so you can see the rear trailing arm bushings. They do go bad and can have almost an inch of play in them when they're shot.

Also try to see the condition of the torque rod bushings. These are the two small tubular rods that are above the axle and control how much it can twist when you accelerate. If these are bad, replacements are available but some cars have a style that requires you to press them in. If you'd like to minimize the down time for your car, you can pick up a set of torque rods at a junkyard, install new bushings to them, and then just swap out the ones on your car. Since there are two styles, and you don't know what is in there till you pull one out, this could be the easy way to do it.
