Stall when touch gas pedal 200 1988

Am frustrated. Car 240 DL starts when gas pedal is not depressed. Idles roughly. As soon as touch the gas pedal the car stalls. Checked the pump relay. First contact closes when ignition on then when turn key to start the second one closes and the pump turns on. If disconnect the connector to the air mass meter then can give some gas and the engine does not stall but has no power. The air mass meter seems to be OK to the eye.

Shorted the temperature sensor and this did not make any difference.

The car stalled in the same fashion a few days ago. I cleaned all contacts and the car ran OK for a day and then died. Any idea what I can do now.
